Grouper fans can get out their fishing poles again | Sports & Recreation

Gulf Coast, Florida - It's the time of year some fishermen look forward to for months. The Gulf gag grouper sport season reopens September 16.

The two-month season allows anglers to harvest gag grouper in both Federal and state Gulf waters. During the open season, which lasts from September 16 - November 15, recreational fishermen may keep two gag grouper and two other types of grouper, for an aggregate daily limit of four. The minimum size limit for gag grouper in these waters is 22-inches in total length.
