Bradenton, Florida -- – On April 27 from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. the Manatee County Substance Abuse Coalition, along with the Manatee County Sheriff’s Office, will participate in National Prescription Drug Take-Back Day.

It gives the public an opportunity to prevent Prescription Drug abuse and theft by ridding their homes of potentially dangerous expired, unused, and unwanted prescription drugs. Liquids and needles are not accepted.

Manatee County, Florida -- The Manatee County Health Department will offer low cost wellness screenings to the general public.

The wellness screening will include a health risk assessment and complete metabolic and lipid panels. These tests screen for blood sugar levels, body mass index, liver and kidney function, and cholesterol levels. The fee for this general wellness screening is $50.00.
