City Fitness hosts Brawn on the Beach, An Amateur Strongman Contest | Events

Anna Maria Island, Florida -- Next Sunday you'll want to head to the beach to see hunks in action! 

Beachhouse Restaurant, along with City Fitness, will host a strongman contest called Brawn on the Beach, An Amateur Strongman Contest -- the first of its kind in the Manatee County area.

Contestants will compete in four categories: a Truck Pull, Farmer's Walk, Log Lift and Atlas Stone Lift for cash prizes. First prize is $500, second is $250 and third is $125.

Those interested in participating can pre-register at City Fitness in Bradenton for $25. The price goes up to $30 on the day of the event. Proceeds will benefit Hope Family Services. Those who come to cheer will get in free!

Attendees can enjoy music by DJ Chris Grumley, along with food and drink specials. Clear Channel radio station 105.9 the Buzz will be broadcasting live from the Beachhouse.

The event will be held on Dec. 9 from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. at Beachhouse Restaurant.
