Super Late Model Drivers in action this Saturday

Bradenton, Florida -- Some of the best Super Late Model Drivers will be in action Saturday, May 18, at Full Throttle Speedway.

Fans will get a chance to see the battle for 75 Green Flag Laps on 3/8-mile high-banked oval. You'll also have the chance to meet some of your favorite drivers and get their autographs!

In action will be Street Stocks, Pro and Rookie 4's, T.Q. Midgets, Modified Minis, Road Warriors and Outlaw Modifieds.

Bradenton, Florida -- Every Saturday from October to May, Downtown Bradenton has a Farmers' Market! Since May is winding down, make sure you get to experience the market before it's summer!

The Farmers' Market takes place on Old Main Street, 12th Street West in Downtown Bradenton. Here the community meets each week to enjoy fresh produce, local art, upbeat music and free family activity. 

There are over 40 vendors who offer fruits, vegetables, prepared food and local artwork.

Clearwater, Florida -- From May 12 to May 18, people will have access to job opportunities through an online job fair targeting job seekers ages 14 to 24. 

The hiring event will span a four-county radius including Manatee, Sarasota, Hillsborough and Pinellas. 

“The virtual job fair is an opportunity to connect youth with employment so that they may gain the skills and experience necessary to become successful future members of the workforce,” said Edward Peachey, President and CEO of the Tampa Bay WorkForce Alliance and WorkNet Pinellas.

Mail carriers collect food for Stamp Out Hunger Food Drive!

Carrollwood, Florida - Mail carriers will take part in the Stamp Out Hunger Food Drive.

Residents can leave non-perishable food item by their mailbox and the letter carrier will pick it up. The food will be donated to food banks to distribute to needy citizens.

Last year, over 70-million pounds of food was donated across the country.

If you cannot leave food items by your mailbox, you can drop it by your local post office.

Six weeks, six themes of summer camps at South Florida Museum

Bradenton, Florida -- Just because it's summer, doesn't mean your kids have to stop learning. South Florida Museum Summer Science Camps will be a fun and interesting way for them to spend their break.

The camps are six weeks long, each focusing on different scientific themes from geology and engineering to forensic science and cosmic science. The camps will take place in the Museum classroom, the Museum itself, the Planetarium and Aquarium from June 11 through July 19. The camps are open to students entering grades 2-6.

Bradenton, Florida -- This Saturday, May 11, Quacky & 15,000 rubber ducklings will race down the Manatee River. 

This is the 4th Annual Lucky Duck Race for PACE is a rubber duck derby with prizes and its for a great cause. 

People can adopt a duck for $5 to participate in the race and the first place winner will receive a new car and the second place winner will win a weekly dinner for two for a year at Anna Maria Oyster Bar.

Wendy Suarez 5K location change

Bradenton, Florida -- The Wendy Suarez 5K Run/Walk which takes place on Saturday, May 11, has a location change. 

The race will now begin and end at Manatee High School. The rest of the details will remain the same. 

The start time is at 7:30 a.m. on May 11 . Packet pickup will take place on Thursday from 5p.m. to 8 p.m. at Fit 2 Run on University Pkwy, Friday from 1:00 p.m. to 6:30 p.m. at Jessie P. Miller Elementary School and the morning of the run at Manatee High School.
