Man, woman shot after car breaks down | Crime

Bradenton, Florida -- A man and woman were rushed to the hospital early Friday morning after they were shot by a unknown male while trying to get help when their car broke down.

Manatee County deputies say Skyla Cowsert and Jerewy Thomas's car broke down in the area of 1100 block of 60th Avenue Dr. E. and were trying to get help. At one point, Thomas got into an argument with an unknown black male who pulled a gun on the pair and shot them. 

Thomas, 31, was shot approximately seven times in his legs and Cowsert, 21, was shot once. Their conditions are not known at this time.

The shooter fled on foot and police are continuing to investigate the incident.
