Bradenton, Florida -- Every Saturday from October to May, Downtown Bradenton has a Farmers' Market! Since May is winding down, make sure you get to experience the market before it's summer!

The Farmers' Market takes place on Old Main Street, 12th Street West in Downtown Bradenton. Here the community meets each week to enjoy fresh produce, local art, upbeat music and free family activity. 

There are over 40 vendors who offer fruits, vegetables, prepared food and local artwork.

Bradenton, Florida --Celebrate Cinco de Mayo and the Annual Salsa Tasting Contest throughout the Village.

Galleries, restaurants, and shops will be serving up their best salsas for your taste buds to savor and enjoy. Vote for your favorites with our paso pennies as you stroll through our 25 galleries and 5 restaurants for an evening of fun, food and music.

It will take place on Friday, May 3 from 6 p.m. - 9:30 p.m. and Saturday, May 4 11 a.m. - 4 p.m. People can enjoy lots of great art by our local artists and lunch at any one of our fine restaurants.

Bradenton, Florida -- Preparations for the 11th Annual Orange and Green Scholarship Gala are well under way. 

Sponsored by the Florida A&M University (FAMU) National Alumni Association Sarasota-Manatee Chapter. This is a special night dedicated to honoring recipients of scholarships that this group awards to local graduating high school seniors in Sarasota and Manatee counties.

The celebration will be held at IMG Academy Golf Club 4350 El Conquistador Pkway Bradenton FL, beginning at 8:00 p.m.

The quartet will be in schools in Sarasota and Manatee counties, May 1-7, 2013, as part of The Perlman Music Program/Suncoast's "Education Outreach Program."

Bradenton, Florida -- Goodwill Manasota is hosting its annual Bookapalooza book sale and silent auction, Saturday, April 13.

The sale features thousands of books, including rare and out-of-print, fiction, children's, travel, cookbooks, history and specialty books. All books will be offered at a 25 percent off regular Goodwill prices. There will also be a silent auction featuring rare books and a chance to win a $25 gift certificate.
