All-star 2B could play in Bradenton this weekend

All-star 2B could play in Bradenton this weekend

BRADENTON, FLORIDA-- A Saturday evening match-up between the Bradenton Marauders and the Clearwater Threshers normally might not draw too much attention from many media outlets or major league baseball scouts.

But this Saturday's game between the Pittsburgh Pirates and Philadelphia Phillies Class A affiliates could be different.

Phillies all-star second baseman Chase Utley is currently on a minor league rehab assignment with the Threshers.

Those assignments can last up to 20 days, and with Utley recovering from a knee injury, he isn't likely to return to the big league club's lineup much sooner than that.
